WAHM is an acronym for Work-at-Home Mom that is commonly used nowadays to easily describe a mom working in the comfort of their home as a telecommuter or a freelancer while also being responsible for family needs. Unfortunately, not everyone is convinced that it is a good idea and option to be a WAHM. Some say that it is hard to work professionally while your kids are around but it’s another way around. WAHMs feel more secure being at home seeing their kids playing while they are doing their job.

- Your child’s milestone is important as your work.
I bet that as a parent you would love to be a part of your child’s major milestone. This could only be possible when you are with them, remember that you can’t bring back the time anymore when you miss it. As we say that going home after work and seeing our kids approaching us is very rewarding, just imagine how much more if you don’t need to leave them.
- No need to compromise being the master of your house.
One of the perks of being a WAHM is that you can still be in full control of things that must be under your control such as preparing healthy foods, maintaining the house cleanliness, managing payment of bills, keeping your kids’ calendar, and more. These are the things that sometimes we get compromise because we work outside.
- You can save more.
I believe as moms who handles the family’s budget, we are the one that sees how fast the money can go no matter how effort we give to save some. But you know what? To be a WAHM you can surely save more as you no longer need to a lot budget for transportation, new clothing, and even food as you can easily grab lunch in the kitchen whatever is available. Another thing is we can avoid temptation from going straight to malls every payday.
- Lesser stress, happier life.
In connection to number 3, if you could eliminate the commute and traffic, why not? Just picture your everyday routine waking up so early and sometimes even without breakfast but ended up 5 minutes late. Let’s admit that this simple scenario is causing us stress. Added to that is the difficulty of thinking, what I should wear today? This may sound funny but it’s true. But if you become a WAHM the moment you open your eyes you can start your day working and be more productive. Overtime is now optional and no more office politics. Happier life indeed.
