I was one of the girls who bought the first ever Belle De Jour (BDJ) planner. Ever since, I’ve been loving all of their designs. However, even though I always buy their planner, I am too much lazy writing notes on it, because I AM LAZY. Haha. Eventually, as I started to enter the corporate world, I realized the importance of writing down the things you need to accomplish and BDJ planners helped me a lot with this.
So, to shorten the story, I was always been a Bella but I do not attend any of their events. Basically, I’m one of the Benchwarmers, the term they give to Bellas who created an account with BDJ just to purchase their products.
A month ago, I have heard of their new event, BDJ Rendezvous 2017: Bella Mommies for quite some time, but I didn’t take time to check it out. Good thing, one of the bloggers I follow, Ginger Arboleda of MommyGinger.com, offered her readers a chance to get free seats for the event. And so, I joined hoping to finally meet her in person. Luckily, I was chosen. She messaged me in Facebook that she can give me free seats.
Since that message, I became excited for the event. I searched for previous events of BDJ to have an idea of what’s going to happen. I learned that Bellas get the chance to snatch numerous of freebies and giveaways in all their events, which excites me even more! Who doesn’t love free stuff?
Well anyway, day came (July 22, 2017 – Saturday). Good thing my husband, Frank, has a basketball game also near the event venue (The Podium), so he was able to accompany me. I came early at around 12nn, so I grabbed my lunch first at Figaro. I went back to the venue at around 12:30pm, registered and sat down at a seat near the aisle. What stole my eyes are the gifts/raffle prizes that are displayed in front. There were soooo many! Yay!
BDJ Rendezvous 2017: Bella Mommies is a celebration of the joy of motherhood. It is the first mommy exclusive event by BDJ. It was hosted by Ms. Isha Borromeo, a blogger and vlogger of Purple Heiress.
The event was started with an ice breaker, where 3 mommies with most numbers of children can join a game. The game’s challenge is to be able to shoot the most number of bean bags in the bowls in front. Eventually, everybody won despite some did not even shoot a single bean bag. BDJ is very generous.
The first speaker was Ms. Louise Fandiño-Santos of MommyPracticality.com. She was an IT specialist, a vocalist, a part-time sales agent, a blogger, and a mother of three boys. Wow, talk about multi-tasking! Well, seriously, she discussed about multi-tasking as a mom. She enumerate five challenges a working mom suffers from, and she gave some possible solutions we can do about it.
Next up is Ms. Ginger Arboleda of MommyGinger.com. She’s the owner of ManilaWorkshops.com and Taxumo. Kudos to this mompreneur! From her, I learned that being a mother doesn’t stop you in pursuing your dreams. If you want to put up a business, do it, no matter the fear you have inside.
After the second talk, we had our very heavy but scrumptious snack, together with drinks from Cinnabon.
Third speaker is the ever stylish Ms. Shari Macainag of TheMistyMom.com. Moms doesn’t have to get the connotation of wearing a “daster” according to her. We can change it to whatever style we love! Ms. Shari shared her top must-haves in her closet which pumps up her style even though she wears the same clothes over and over.
Last speaker is not yet a mother, but she wants to share her advocacy to the moms that attended the event. She’s non other than Ms. Ian Banzon, a fitness coach, Nike Run Club Coach, athlete, a doctor and now the new ambassador of Celeteque. She learned that most moms suffer from backache, and therefore shared some basic exercises which can lessen or eventually get rid of the pain. She also campaigned for Celeteque, a brand she uses for years now and trusts for her skin. She has a beautiful skin, I admit.
