As aspiring Virtual Assistants or current VAs, it is relatively necessary to know the Google Drive Keyboard Shortcuts to make your WAHM life easier. As we all know, balancing work and family life is crucial which is learning the Google Drive keyboard shortcuts to cut time and improve our efficiency is really helpful to get the job done.

Google Drive is one of the essentials you should master if you wanted to work from home full time. It is the most favorable cloud storage of entrepreneurs since it offers a 15GB limit for free users and if they want to make the storage bigger, the upgrade is relatively cheaper compared to other cloud storage options. In other words, it’s the ideal solution for office productivity.

We, as mothers, are already preoccupied with tons of household chores and taking care of our kids, I get that feeling. This is why when we do specific tasks on line, these keyboard shortcuts are such a lifesaver!

Create Actions

Shift + F: Create a new folder

Shift + P: Create a new Presentation

Shift + S: Create a new Spreadsheet

Shift + T: Create a new Document

Isn’t it tedious to manually click New then open Documents, Presentations, or Sheets? These shortcuts will save you time and I also encounter some dilemmas to manually drag it to the folder because you mistakenly opened an action to the general folder.

Navigation Access

A: Open the more actions menu for the currently selected item

C: Open the new item menu

D: Toggle the details pane

F: Open the folders actions menu

I: Toggle the activity pane

R: Open the sort menu

T: Open the settings menu

V: Switch between grid and list views

/: Jump to Google Drive search bar

As moms, we always encounter our kids being clingy all day which leads us to do our task one-handed. This keyboard shortcut is definitely worth remembering to save your time and most importantly. Your effort.

N: Rename selected item

S: Star or unstar selected item

Z: Move selected item to another folder

Do you ever encounter your kids trying to get the mouse and navigate your computer? I sometimes experience it with Toby and let me tell you, it really decreases my efficiency and it may lead to some errors while doing admin tasks- of course, we don’t want that. Master these shortcuts and you can definitely go mouseless.
