Connect with your baby even before you give birth.
You actually don’t have to wait until you see your baby eye to eye to bond with him/her and establish a great relationship. There are different ways to connect with your baby during the 9 months they’re inside us. Check out these ideas:
-
Explore your thoughts
Contradicting to what most say not to think a lot while pregnant because it might cause depression or postpartum especially to new moms, thinking can aid in having you pay attention to your own body and even your baby. Even more, it can actually protect you from suffering from depression.
-
Picture your baby
I get it, you already have your ultrasound and you might even know how your cute little baby looks like by now. But imagining what your baby looks like inside your belly, what is his position, is he sucking his thumb, and is he trying to reach for the umbilical cord, is a great way to connect with your baby.
-
Talk to your baby
You don’t need to think thoroughly what to talk about with your baby. The important thing is you’re thinking about him while you’re talking to him. Treat him like your diary, your husband and even your best friend. Talk about how’s your day. You can even ask him how is his (Even though we know he’ll not respond… haha). This activity not only make your relationship stronger but it can actually boost language development. Plus, he’ll get used to your voice and possibly makes your voice soothing to him when he came out to this world.
-
Disconnect to the gadget world
Put that phone down, disconnect to the social media networks. Think twice before you grab those gadgets while waiting in line, or you’re waiting for your doctor’s appointment. It will give you a chance to run with your thoughts and send sweet messages to your baby.
-
Express your love to others
Did you know that every time you touch someone you love, your body transfers ‘love’ hormones to your unborn child? When you feel loved, cared, supported and nourished, your baby feels it too. So schedule a cuddle fest with your husband, hug all the people you love, or even pet your cute little doggie to keep the love hormones flowing.
How about you, mommies? What do you do to connect with you little ones inside your tummy?
Share them below and share the love, it’s good for our babies, remember?
