I love baby showers. I love attending them. I love organizing them. I love celebrating the bundle of joy God has given lovely couples. And now, I am pregnant, I was lucky to be able to given a slot at the Smart Parenting Baby Shower last June 23, 2018, which was held at the Makati Diamond Residences. SP Baby Showers are gatherings of soon-to-be-moms to celebrate the gift they are taking care of inside their womb.
I admit I was pretty much excited to attend such event, not just because of the knowledge I will learn from the experts that will tackle different aspects of infant care, but because of the mommies I would meet and share stories with.
This year Smart Parenting, with partnership with Nivea Baby, brought experts Dr. Asunsion S. Esmelle, Doula Irina Otmakhova, and Dr. Florence Irena Atutubo-Baylas.
Dr. Emelle, with year of experience, demonstrates how to properly bathe your babies. As she does, some expectant moms can join her with the use of bathing stations prepared by Nivea Baby.
Doula Irina Otmakhova discussed gentle birth. As we all know, gentle birth is becoming popular here in the Philippines. To some mommies not yet heard of it, Ms. Irina’s talk was very much informative. She has definitely changed the perception of women about delivering babies.
Lastly, Dr. Florence Baylas run through basic newborn care from swaddling, breastfeeding, clothing to sleeping.
Definitely, it was an afternoon full of learnings. Bonus to that, all participants got the chance to take home special loot bag from Smart Parenting and Nivea Baby. To make the event more exciting, raffle prizes are given as well. I was lucky to win one of the prizes, a washable cloth diaper from Dandy Nappy. Other prizes were loot bags from Nivea Baby, two foldable mattresses and a baby crib from Giant Carrier, UV Sterilizer from HaenimUV and 1-year supply of Nivea Products from Nivea Baby.
